Gothic Text Generator

Create gothic text with regular and bold Fraktur Unicode letters. Compare the two blackletter looks for short names, headings and themed messages, then copy the version that stays readable in your destination.

Choose a gothic or bold Fraktur look

Regular Fraktur

This set uses angular letterforms with decorative strokes. Inspect the capital letters in your own name: familiar Latin letters can look quite different in Fraktur, especially at small display sizes.

Bold Fraktur

The bold row offers a heavier blackletter appearance. Compare it with regular Fraktur rather than assuming it is always clearer; dense strokes can make a long phrase difficult to distinguish.

A visual style, not a historical translation

People may search for an Old English text generator to find this look. The tool changes letter shapes only. It does not translate modern English into Old English, reproduce a manuscript or provide an authentic historical typeface.

Keep dates and symbols in their original form

These two mappings convert supported Latin letters while leaving digits and punctuation unchanged. Check a complete title with its date or number before copying. Non-Latin text is not converted into blackletter calligraphy.

How to generate gothic text

  1. 1

Enter a short name, heading or phrase in ordinary letters.

  2. 2

Compare regular and bold Fraktur. Check capitals, numbers and any letters that stay unchanged.

  3. 3

Copy one row and test it where the text will appear before saving or publishing.

Gothic text for themed names and headings

A fantasy character’s display name

Try the name in regular Fraktur for a themed profile or role-playing chat. Check whether the platform accepts the characters and whether other readers can still recognize the name. The tool styles your existing name; it does not invent one.

Raven → ℜ𝔞𝔳𝔢𝔫

A short heading for a themed post

Use a compact bold heading above ordinary text in an informal event or story post. Keep the date and essential details plain so they remain easy to read and reuse.

Night club → 𝕹𝖎𝖌𝖍𝖙 𝖈𝖑𝖚𝖇

A title for a story collection

Compare both rows on the same title to decide which works at the final display size. If you need a cover image or precise print typography, use a design editor and an appropriate font; this page produces copyable text.

Moon Tales → 𝔐𝔬𝔬𝔫 𝔗𝔞𝔩𝔢𝔰

A team label with a number

Preview the full label so you can see the contrast between Fraktur letters and unchanged digits. If that mixture does not suit the label, the Bold Text Generator offers regular bold rows with styled numbers.

Guild 7 → 𝕲𝖚𝖎𝖑𝖉 7

Gothic, blackletter and Old English text explained

Are gothic, blackletter and Fraktur the same style?

They are related labels, but this tool specifically provides regular and bold Unicode Fraktur sets. Gothic and blackletter cover broader lettering traditions. Use the actual preview to decide whether these particular forms match what you need.

Does an Old English font generator translate my text?

No. Here the name describes a visual association with decorative blackletter. Your wording is unchanged. For a historical language translation, manuscript reproduction or a downloadable font, you need a different kind of tool.

Why do some capitals look unfamiliar?

Fraktur has distinctive letter shapes. Try the full name and compare its regular and bold versions. If recognition matters more than the decorative effect, use a simpler style from the Fancy Text Generator.

Can I convert numbers or Chinese and Japanese characters?

Digits, punctuation and unmapped characters are preserved. These presets are not a blackletter font applied to arbitrary text, so they do not turn a multilingual sentence or a date into one fully matching typeface.

Can I use gothic text for a tattoo or printed design?

You can use the preview to explore a look, but the result is not production artwork. For a tattoo, logo or print piece, review the exact letterforms with the person making it and use a suitable design workflow.

What should I do if the result is hard to read or shows boxes?

Try regular Fraktur, shorten the phrase or switch to ordinary letters. A destination may not support every glyph. Use decorative text sparingly and keep essential information readable without depending on the effect.

What happens beyond the 2,000-character conversion limit?

The full source stays in your input, but only the first 2,000 Unicode code points are converted and copied. A notice appears when the source is longer. Work in shorter sections to cover the rest; editing or switching text tools does not silently discard the original.

Is the tool free and private?

Yes. It requires no account and performs the conversion in your browser rather than sending the input to a conversion server. Keep a separate copy of important source text: the shared input is temporary and clears when you clear it, reload or close the tab.
